The State Government has announced that the Shire of Koorda (shared with MtMarshall & Mukinbudin) will now benefit from a Community Emergency Services Manager (CESM) – a dedicated role to help keep our community safe.

The CESM will:

- Support our amazing volunteer bushfire brigades.

- Work alongside Shire staff and DFES.
- Strengthen planning, training and response before, during and after emergencies.

Thanks to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA (DFES), Hon. Paul Papalia (Minister for Emergency Services; Corrective Services; Defence Industries; Veterans; Racing and Gaming) and Member for the Central Wheatbelt Lachlan Hunter MP who had campaigned for the Shire to secure this important role.
