The Shire of Koorda provides residents with a FREE public library service as part of the statewide network of public libraries jointly provided by local governments and the State Library of Western Australia.
The library is located at 10 Haig Street Koorda in the shire office building and is open during office hours Monday to Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm excluding public holidays.
The library stocks a full and comprehensive range of library resources including Adult Fiction, Non - Fiction, Young Adult, Junior Fiction and Junior Kindy.
In these categories we have a variety of books and items including LARGE PRINT, DVD’S and Audiobooks (CD’S) and Better Beginnings Backpacks.
The library receives around 42 new items every month and participates in a quarterly used item exchange from the State Library four times a year. Please ask staff regarding requests. The library can deliver to housebound members who have trouble getting to our facility.
The library is a welcoming area which has comfortable lounges and a small children’s play area for all community members to enjoy.
Library membership is FREE. There is no minimum age for joining, but those under 18 years of age require consent from their parent or guardian.
Members can borrow up to 10 items (15 items if on a family membership) The borrowing period is 4 weeks and items can be renewed by phone, email or in person if no other member has requested them.
