Koorda Recreation Centre

Koorda Recreation Ground Entrance

This centre is of an high standard, with a fully grassed amphitheater-type oval, modern pavilion-hall with bar facilities and air conditioning, office, together with very adequate accommodation for all sporting events. The centre is also the venue for the very popular annual Show held by the Koorda Agricultural Society, early each September.

Museum

Koorda's Museum takes its theme from the building's origin as a Hospital in the years before World War II, and an interesting display of old hospital and surgical equipment is featured in one of the former wards. There is also a large display of early farming machinery and pioneer homestead effects.

Granite Outcrops

Mollerin Rock, Newcarlbeon, Badgerin Rock and Moningarin, all fairly close to town are picturesque outcrops of granite each with its own peculiar mini-environment of wildflowers, birds and small animals. Most have picnic or barbecue facilities. Moningarin has the extra bonus of native gnamma holes.

C.B.H. Installation

Koorda is the regional office for Co-Operative Bulk Handling's cereal grain transport system for the surrounding area. A tour of the modern complex will give an appreciation of the processes involved in the receival and handling of the vast quantity of grain grown here. Redcliffe

The Koorda Rose

An unusual geological formation near the town, although not generally accessible to the public.

Red Cross - CWA

A centre offering a large selection of hand crafted items for sale, recycled clothing and furniture.

Drive-in Theatre

Situated on the Koorda-Wyalkatchem Road at the entrance to town.
