The Koorda Shire Council consists of 8 elected members, who represent the interests of the electors and make policy decisions, with staff that provide the resource and carryout the work that is required to implement the decisions and direction of Council and ensure statutory compliance of Acts and Regulations Administered by Council. The Shire is divided into 3 wards. Normally, each Councillor is elected for a term of 4 years, with vacancies occurring every second year.
